The Twin-Cut was designed and manufactured under the Davco Solutions banner from 2003
until 2010 when it was established as its own entity. Davco Solutions Inc, an established industrial solutions
facility was the incubator for a number of inventions and prototypes including the Ultimate harvester/processor
Head and the Davco brush mowers.
In 2003 inventors Dave Fenton and
Les Oilund began the work to create a “bi-directional” mobile sawmill. Their dream of a completely mobile
sawmill with the ability to cut both hardwood and softwood efficiently achieving reasonably high production was
first launched during the 2005 Northern Alberta Forestry Show in Grande Prairie, Alberta,
Canada.
In 2006 Dave & Les
received a Canadian and US Patent on the flow pattern and head rig of their
portable circular sawmill.
After a good deal of testing a better, simpler, lumber sawmill was built and again
launched at the 2007 Northern Alberta
Forestry Show, in Prince George, BC.
We are very pleased with
the current design of the circular sawmill equipment. The robust design has proven itself during the trails and we
are pleased with the opportunity to be a critical component in the new bio-energy industry.

The original Twin-Cut sawmill prototype cutting rail way ties
west of Prince George, BC in 2007.
